Sarah Bernhardt is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Provider in Nebraska. Sarah joined Options in Psychology, LLC in August of 2016. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Science from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1996. Her background involves work with adolescents in Residential Treatment in Lincoln, advocacy and case management for adult and child victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Lincoln and southeast Nebraska, and directing a social work office in long term care in York, NE. Sarah received a Master of Arts in Education in Community Counseling from Chadron State College in 2009. She worked as a Graduate Assistant involving tutoring and teaching undergraduate psychology. Sarah has continued to work as an Adjunct Instructor at CSC, teaching a variety of undergraduate psychology courses. Her post-graduate work has involved work with at risk adolescents, community mental health, and private practice.
Sarah works with all ages, specializing in treating trauma. She has interests and backgrounds in treating PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Attachment issues. Her approach is often client-centered with mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, and attachment/relationship focused. Sarah is trained in Exposure therapy, EMDR, EMDR for attachment trauma in children, Child Parent Psychotherapy, and Play therapy. She is also a facilitator for Circle of Security Parenting.
